Information from the User Meeting Spring 2009

Record number of participants during this springs user meeting

The user meeting attracted a record number of participants to Stockholm this year and they came to be inspired as well as exchange thoughts and ideas with others. "We are very happy with the turnup and the warm reception of the new features we presented" says Mattias Bogeblad who is one of the organizers of these meetings.

This years theme was product news and inspiration from reality.

The day began with the community presenting platform news and things to come in the 3.0 edition. Most features was welcome but the biggest cheer came when Mikael Stoltz from Gothenburg University presented the upcoming InfoGlue Form editor scheduled for later this year. The editor will revolutionize the way users work with forms in their InfoGlue-websites and removes the need of programming skills.

Next presentation was held by Thomas Ahlmark who showed their implementation of a course catalog at Umeå University. It contained examples of how to use the PreTemplate features and also some advanced caching techniques as well as integration of datasources.

The demo block continued with a few demonstrations made by the community or Modul1 which showed InfoGlue as a traditional portal with integration to Alfresco / Alfresco Share and Google Apps. A short demo on how to use infoglue as internal TV / Slideshow-app was carried out also. The block was closed with Modul1 showing a short demo of Alfresco Share which is a open source software which directly competes with Microsoft Sharepoint server.

The presentation Stefan Sik was going to do about NasdaqOMX's new intranet was unfortunaltely cancelled as he became ill the night before. We hope he will show it at the next user meeting instead.

One of the most important aspects of these meetings are of course to give participants opportunity to mingle and discuss their own experiences and solutions with others from other organizations. During the day the participants had plenty of time to do this both during breaks and during lunch.

The InfoGlue Community and Modul 1 thanx all the participants for their time and all the input for coming versions and welcomes all to the next meeting at the end of the year.
